What's the difference between hypnosis, subliminal messages and autosuggestion?
Hypnosis is a state of human consciousness involving focused attention and reduced peripheral awareness and an enhanced capacity to respond to suggestion. Example: When someone guides you into a state of relaxation that allows them to speak with your subconscious mind.
Subliminal Messages are stimuli that lie below our threshold of conscious awareness. It's a message passed to the human mind without the mind being consciously aware of it. Example: This is the reason that McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's and other fast food companies all share the same colors in the their logo.
Autosuggestion is a psychological technique related to the placebo effect. It's a form of self-induced suggestion in which individuals guide their own thoughts, feelings, or behavior. Example: This can easily be seen in most meditation techniques as well as repeating personal mantras everyday for self-improvement; like transcendental meditation.
If you're interested in hypnosis, subliminal messages and autosuggestion you'd love my book, "Selling Hypnotically: The Art of Suggestion." While the book is a useful tool for using covert hypnosis, subliminal messaging and autosuggestion techniques in sales; it's also a great tool for your personal life as well.
