“Hypnosis can help you change your thought processes and behaviors to affect change on a physical level. That’s why so many people that have a problem with their physical appearance turn to hypnosis for weight loss. If you change your frame of mind, you can change most any less than desirable aspects of your life. I constantly teach all my clients, what the mind believes the mind achieves. Using hypnosis in this context, I help people visualize their desired physique.
For instance, when the Kardashians told the media that they were seeing positive weight loss results by using corsets, this was a result of a form of hypnosis. I was tickled pink to hear this because I knew that it wasn’t the corset that was acting as a weight loss aid. The corset was merely a placebo. A placebo is anything that seems to be a ‘real’ medical treatment -- but isn't. It could be a pill, a shot, or some other type of ‘fake’ treatment (like a fashion item). What all placebos have in common is that they do not contain an active substance meant to affect health. What happened was they ‘believed’ in the corset and its ability to make them thin. Their thought processes involved truly believing that the weight of the mind was the weight of the body. By doing this deep mental process, they flushed the toxins out of their bodies mentally and were able to naturally lose weight.
For my clinical hypnosis clients that are looking to lose weight, we work on hypnosis sessions that get to the root of their negative eating habits. Poor eating habits aren’t an innate part of your behavior. With your personal experiences and routines, you have learned to suppress anxiety and stress with food. By going under hypnosis and finding the root of the learnt behavior, a clinical hypnotist is able to replace that thought process with a more positive and healthier behavior.
So, does hypnosis for weight loss work? Yes, when working with a licensed clinical hypnotherapist, you can most definitely change your eating habits in order to choose healthier and more nutritional foods in your life.”
