Getting hypnotized is not just for fun and games. It can also be good for your health.

According to WebMD.com, “Clinical hypnosis may be used to treat certain physical or psychological problems. For instance, it is frequently used to help patients control pain. It is also used in a wide range of other conditions such as weight issues, speech disorder, and addiction problems.”

Professional Hypnotist, Richard Barker, tells Channel Three News hypnotism works if you are willing. He has been a professional hypnotists for the last fourteen years.

“Typically it’s for anxiety, fear or guilt. So people who feel anxious, depressed or nervous, even want to lose weight, this is a great way to get rid of their fears or phobias,” said Barker.

He said right now, the number one reason people are getting hypnotized is to lose weight. “The reason why is because, the weight of the mind is the weight of the body. If you think yourself thin, you become thin. It’s all controlled in the mind,” said Barker.
